A Guide Zune HD

Microsoft Zune HD rumors and spy shots are now turning into complete truth and product shots, with key pieces of information surfacing. Microsoft's 720p media player with its 3.3-inch 16:9 OLED touchscreen is up for pre-order today, offering you a choice of a black 16GB model for $219.99, or a silver 32GB model for $289.99.


  • Will be available in blue, lime green, red/maroon, beige, black and silver
  • Only the black and silver models are available for pre-order today.
  • Ships September 15
  • Receives HD Radio
  • Screen has 480x272 resolution, but can output 720p to a TV via HDMI using optional Dock or AV Power Pack
  • AV Dock (pictured below left) includes a wireless remote, AC adapter, HDMI cable and AV output cable for $89.99.
  • AV & Power Pack (below right) lets you hook up your Zune to a TV, and includes an AC adapter, HDMI cable and AC output cable for $49.99.
  • The Dock and AV Power Pack will both be available on the September 15 launch date.
  • In a few big-city markets (Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C.) Best Buy will let you paw the device on August 22 and 23, where you'll also be allowed to plunk down a $25 deposit for preorder.
